Harry Proposed to Meghan
The Engagement Ring analysis
Simon West: Exciting news, Harry has proposed to Meghan with a stunning 3-carat cushion-cut diamond which he sourced from Botswana. Either side of that diamond, you’ll notice that there are two small diamonds. They’re round in shape and they’re from Diana’s jewellery collection. Harry designed the ring himself in yellow gold and he had the ring made at Cleave Court Jewellers. The most popular shaped diamond in the marketplace is definitely the round brilliant cut. However, the cushion-cut diamond is a close second. Back in 2007, Tiffany & Co started marketing the cushion-cut diamond in a big way, and the demand has seen the rise and rise of the cushion. A ring like this, one can expect to pay around $70,000 to $80,000. However, with the type of quality that Harry would have chosen, you can expect to pay somewhere between $130,000 and $150,000.
Who else do we know who’s got a cushion-cut diamond? Well, there’s Kim Kardashian. Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian with two rings. Not one, but two. Two, so that she could choose, and she ended up choosing a 16-carat cushion-cut diamond. Very impressive. I’d hate to think how much he paid. You also might ask, “What sort of wedding ring would Meghan go for?” Well, she’s got a trilogy ring and you don’t wanna take from what she’s got, it’s a classic look. I’d suggest that she may go for a very plain yellow gold wedding ring with no diamonds at all. Harry, I’d expect of him to go for either a platinum classic ring or possibly even a yellow gold classic ring to tie it in with Meghan’s ring. Thank you.
